Back from filming on the moon, Wish Master stopped by to talk about his recent release ‘Science‘. The Bristol MC and label owner is taking off thanks to his hard work and solid album Boom Bap to the Future. Find out what’s next for Wish, and what it takes to make a blockbuster in Bristol.
What were the best bits from making your eccentric new video for ‘Science’?
“It was the first time I saw the filmset it was absolutely mind blowing. It was a step-up for certain, I knew I had to bring my A game. I got to say it, not every day you get to dress up like a nan, and play such a unique and monumental character like Blanche, (that’s what I named the character). One of the best bits about making the video was seeing what it takes to make an epic piece of art. Not just effort, creativity, planning and belief, but ultimately an investment of peoples’ time. So thank you to everyone involved to make the Bristolwood blockbuster.”
What impact has the album Boom Bap to the Future had on your rap career?
“It has made a tremendous impact on my career. Being my first debut solo album as well I am astonished and overwhelmed with how well it has done, but also how it propelled me to the front of the Bristol Hip-Hop scene with some heavy contenders.”
What does Wish Master wish for?
“Wish Master wishes to build a team and a network that can help me create a hub and platform for the scene in Bristol. Also to get into fashion and putting on concerts but ultimately global success and recognition for building bridges in music. Stand for something or fall for anything.”
What’s in the works for Wish Master and Official Recordings in 2020?
“I have a new project with Illinformed called Cold Harbour Tales and a joint project with Baileys Brown which is 140. O.R have a lot in the pipeline for the new year. Just had a new artist join the roster called Danja, got new single ‘Don’t Chat Wass’ which is a 140 heater prod by Coco, drops Friday 13th December. And many of the other artists dropping for the new year Keeda & Jordan Nathaniel.”
