Review: King Solo – Wise Men Hear, Evil Men Despise EP

In Hip Hop by Chris White

Dropping his new EP ‘Wise Men Hear, Evil Men Despise’, Wolverhampton based rapper King Solo (aka Soloman)  has certainly been turning a few heads recently. The EP is goes beyond just a UK  effort, with King Solo collaborating with artists and producers from around the world. The lead track ‘Rainy Days’ features US rapper Rich Quick and Slovenian producer Rob Steez, and gives a deep insight into the struggle of an aspiring lyricist with his bars being complimented by the low key beat and melodic hook.

The EP oozes quality throughout, and covers many different topics and current events, especially in the track ‘Die Another Day’ where Solo spits about ongoing social issues, whilst he also tackles his own personal issues in ‘This Is My Life’ and the monumental closing track ‘Lord Forgive Me’. With the confidence in his flow that the West Midlands rapper displays, along with some masterful writing paired with some insane beats, it’s clear that ‘Wise Men Hear, Evil Men Despise’ is just the start and that we can expect even bigger things to come.
