Video: Queen Millz Stops Traffic With Her Latest Track ‘Red Light’

In Hip Hop by Vicky Thompson

Leicester-born artist Queen Millz stops traffic with her latest single Red Light from her ‘Causing A Scene’ mixtape that dropped earlier this year. The single officially dropped on the 28th of July, and the stylish and quirky rapper has hit the ground running ever since, as well as her latest appearances at BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, BBC 1xtra at the Great Escape, NASS festival and more.

With her distinctive tone and laid-back persona, she fuses self-established energy in a homely and humble manner. Queen Millz combines the essence of her home town with the transition to fame so smoothly in the video with the perfect mixture of hometown imagery and cityscapes and stars.

Combining masculine and feminine energies within her sound, alongside a rave-licious style makes the Leicester-born Queen Mills live up to her name in the video whilst delivering a dominant queen-like power-hungry demeanour.

Red Light outlines who she is and what she’s about before going on to tell the tales of the nitty gritty, over a bouncy bop that is not only catchy but introductory in style. Based on the reaction of the song so far, it’s clear to see that Queen Millz is causing people to slam on their breaks and come to a halt to check out who she is, what she is and where she plans to take us when the lights finally turn green.
