Profile: Laughta

Laughta, the 23 year old Londoner, of Lebanese descent has sure as hell come a long away, and ‘Hard At Work’ wholly represents exactly that! Her strong graft and work ethic resonate throughout, still being extremely original yet still relatable. So having the knack towards combining the two and maintaining it is a sure fire combo!! Her charisma and certainly infectious, mischievous energy is always evident in her engaging delivery, with such tenacious desire to succeed.

Fully fledged member of the High Bar Nationals collective since 2011; Laughta met, and began collaborating with, fellow artist and producer Str8face, who helped her create her debut EP ‘Unstoppable’, released in July of 2012. During that time, the diversity of her stage appearances ranged from plays and musicals, to wins at SB:TV’s Peacemix and Unsigned Hype (with High Bar Nation), to interviews alongside the likes of Tinchy Stryder on ITN & London360.

Each had a definitive impact on Laughta’s artistic expression, though none moreso than in March of 2013, when the chance to open for US Rap Star Joe Budden at East London’s Club XOYO, inspired a new level of intensity and passion for her craft. Now back with her second EP, ‘Most Wanted’; Laughta is ready for an entirely new phase in her musical career.

In July’s “Streets Of Peace” Rapstar Finals competition where Akala – one of Laughta’s lyrical inspirations – headlined; this highly respected Rapper is the only female in her category to reach this stage. She soon organised her own EP launch for the very first time, with special guest support from Lady Lykez amongst many others, there can be no question as to why Laughta is earning rave reviews from fellow artists and Industry heavyweights alike!
