Review: TMSV – Over Out

Something big is moving in the murky waters straddled by Om Unit’s Cosmic Bridge imprint. It’s the label’s first release from Dutch producer TMSV and it is a true basscone damager. The four tracks which make up Over Out throw deep dubstep-influenced basslines and jungle sensibilities into a ferocious melting pot, the result of which is a shapeshifting sound described by Om Unit as “Just well produced good music that works on a system and isn’t limited by genre or scene rules”.

TMSV is a new alias of Tomas Roels whose roots stretch down into the dubstep scene. Roels has been sending tracks to Om Unit for a few years, and these have hit the spot with the underground heavyweight proclaiming “I had to have these tracks”.

With a brooding bassweight across the EP, the tracks veer from the forceful title track to two cuts of slightly more dubwise music on the flip – not to mention the wobbly and aptly-named ‘Torpedo Riddim’ on side A.

Check out the title track below, or click HERE to preorder – the EP drops on June 24.
