A year after the release of the widely acclaimed debut EP Good Morning Simulation, North London rapper Osquello is preparing for the launch of his second studio release with this new groove, Paradigm City. If you enjoy soul music then be prepared for an honest unrolling of emotional layers, explored through rap, singing and sweet instrumentation.
“It’s a double entendre, the song can either relate to a lost lover you can’t deal with, or a business opportunity/ partner that you can’t deal with is trying to take advantage. End of the day they’re both paradigms that leave people stuck in the same patterns” – Osquello.
With punchy, focused bars that seek an understanding of love and our hopes for it, the brief introduction serenades off with the lullaby of Spanish guitar played by Sam Wray. The track then gently tides in and out of hip-hop/soul ballad meandering waves of bedroom organ and space synthetics.
Furthering his distinct yet dynamic sound; a fusion of hip hop, jazz and soul hued with the blues, it is forever becoming impossible to describe the transient sounds the 20 year old is producing. Truly one to watch but good luck doing it as he whisk’s you off into the feels of, Paradigm City.
