Sponsored Video: Childline and BAFTA present ‘Create and make’

Ever thought of yourself as a budding film script writer and aged under 16?? Now’s your chance to shine!!! The kids’ division of the UK’s answer to the Oscars, BAFTA have linked up with leading kids charity ChildLine to offer young people aged 7-16 the chance to visit the studio to see their storyboard being turned into a short film!! 

The plot line they want you to base it on is to do with something you should all be familiar with –  helping a friend! Any kind of friendship, is fine and the time and location of the story is completely up to you!!! Check out the video below for more information!


To give yourslf the best chance of winning, think about

  • how much of a difference it can make when friends help each other.
  • Think of the problem solving talents your friends have! e.g. strong, inspirational, understanding!
  • They could have super powers in these areas or however you feel will pass the message across best it’s up to your creativity and imagination!
  • Remember it’s not about who’s the best artist but who has the best ideas!

As long as parental permission is given you can enter as many times as you like, and use up to three storyboard templates using drawings, photographs, collages or simply stick men! These are three age ranges for entries:

  1. 7-10
  2. 11-13
  3. 14-16

First prize includes return travel and one night’s stay in London for the winner and one parent or guardian. They’ll also receive the runner-up prizes as an added bonus! Two runners-up will receive an annual pass to Cineworld cinemas and a digital video camera.
