Round up of dope new hip hop – week ending 16 July

In Hip Hop by Nick Russell

Here’s a round up new hip hop we’re digging!

Jim Jones ft Mozzy – Banging

Harlem’s Jim Jones keeps it hood as ever, as he links up with California rapper Mozzy, one of the most promising names over the past two years! Cinematic visuals and more of that straight gutta content we love! This is off Jones’ new album Wasted Talent.

Jay Rock – OSOM ft. J. Cole –

Taken from the TDE artist’s new album ‘Redemption‘ this is the new visual featuring a dope appearance from J Cole!  Solid track all round from two very accomplished artists.

Jamar Carr – R.N.S (Prod. Jos Beats)

A solid name we’ve supported for a few months now, Jamar Carr revisits the Biggie and Bone Thugs collab on the hook for this new track R.N.S. Tight flow pattern and dope lyrics as ever from the NY rapper. Keep a look out for more heat soon!

ENAKA – Exception

This one named ‘Exception’ is a solid romantic but not corny record from Enaka, an independent Cameroonian/American 23 year old. She spans across genres, as a rapper, singer/songwriter, and producer, from south Atlanta. Further streaming links here.

TITUS – All Time High

Dope new record from New Jersey artist Titus which has some skilful wordplay and a well thought out style of production, with an interesting vocal style too. This is off his debut EP ‘404.Not.Found’.

Brad Reid – Yes He Did (feat. Jeremiah Reid)

New heat from Brad Reid who’s linked up with feat. Jeremiah Reid to bring a Mannie Fresh inspired tune with that southern bounce and head nodding uplifting hook. Dope stuff!
