Review: Scorcher – 1 Of 1 EP

Fresh off his nominations at this years MOBO awards for the visuals of ‘Work Get It’, the North London MC and producer, who emerged from the underground member of legendary collective The Movement (which also included Wretch 32, Devlin, Ghetts and Mercston), Scorcher brings out his new release ‘1 of 1’ EP.

The release starts off with the track ‘Best’ which finds the artist reminiscing about his current position in the game, while at the same time stating “I got no one to trust, all these dickheads and bitches”.

Later on in the release, with ‘Lord’ he finds himself holding his own with Snow Team members (G Money & J Avalanche), as well as showing depth on ‘One Of A Kind’ with Tone & Chip.

With numerous grime mixtapes and singles, his staying power in the scene has been proven with his growth as an artist, even with his live show at the Jazz Cafe which had appearances from G Frsh, Wretch 32, Ghetts and the aforementioned Snow Team (G Money & J Avalanche).

This release already hit #7 on the iTunes hip hop chart, so Skywalker has his work cut out for him, making sure that the music he brings out is not only what resonates from his soul as an artist, but as a representative of North London.
