Review: Flabz – Under The Influence EP [+Launch Party Info]

West London’s own Flabz, who has been honing his craft for some years now brings out his first ever official release ‘Under The Influence’. After being a part of the UK Hip Hop scene, he now steps forward to stake his claim, with a diverse mix of Hip Hop, Jungle, Reggae, and Grime influences, his sound is as diverse as his own delivery. Now a part of the elite super group E&Daniels, Flabz is now one of the faces of the team, made up of veterans, battle rappers, and promising up and coming talent. With the likes of Mystro, Micall Parknsun, Tony D, Skirmish and more guiding him and giving advice, only time will tell how Flabz’ gifts are recieved on the UK Hip Hop plectrum.

‘Under The Influence’ is a look into the life and times of the creative, carefree and sometimes self destructive nature of the MC himself, as he bares his soul for the listener. By doing that, normally he would run the risk of being pigeon holed as a contemporary of established artist Slug of Atmosphere, but he deftly carves his own lane by his own accord, with a more traditional hip hop backdrop anchoring his story telling abilities. His numerous visuals on youtube have helped him build up an ever growing loyal fanbase as well, and we should look forward to seeing more from the man himself, not only as a performer but as a viable musical artist. Streaming and download options are below for the project. He will also be a part of the launch party on the 31st, so check that out if your in the area!
