Review: Bonobo – Flashlight
Bonobo – You can call an artist has perfected their signature style when you hear the first few seconds of a track and you’re able to instantly tell its producer. This is the case with Bonobo new track ‘Flashlight’ released earlier this month.
His 2013 album ‘The North Borders’ determined his predominance within the electronic music scene, where we see a unique mixture of melodies marry with the cutting edge sounds of bass and drums. An artist that is known purely for pushing himself out of his musical comfort zone, has in turn earned him such a reputation that has seen his DJ sets and 12-piece live band shows determine his reputation as one of the most revolutionary role models within electronic music of today.
Since being brought up in rural Hampshire, Simon Green has gained recognition from across the globe, and once again he has not let us down. Due for release in December, his new single which features three brand new tracks, Bonobo has his melodic fingers in a few musical pies. This week on Beatport, Bonobo takes the supremacies of their Decade project, celebrating their 10th anniversary.
Each day a classic track will be given away for free download on the Beatport x Bonobo Microsite. Also, the DJ and producer has chosen his Top 10 Electronica Tracks of the past decade, as well as his Top 10 Electronica Tracks of the moment.
