Princess Nokia plays Electric Brixton on November 10

In Hip Hop by Elliott Nielson

From Spanish Harlem to South London

Following 2 sold out shows earlier this year, Princess Nokia, once known as Wavy Spice, heads to Electric Brixton, November 10th for her biggest London show to date.

The Princess from New York is touring Europe this autumn and gets to the UK early this November. Her music videos for TOMBOY, BRUJAS and DRAGONS have hit deserved millions and prove there is power in independence. The genre-spanning musician’s riot grrrl attitude and mastery of her cosmopolitan aesthetic can be highlighted as keys to her success as a rapper.

Yet throughout her career, before and after becoming a princess, she has shown her sweet singing voice is another weapon of mass elation in her vocal arsenal. Nokia was “obsessed with individualism early on”, so her multi-dimensional cross-cultural style eventually gained her an international fan base.

The show should be one of vibrant energy, heavy heavy bass and strong city girls mouthing every word i’d get yourself down to Brixton, 10th of November.
