Illaman & Norm Oddity joint EP & ‘OK!’ video

In Hip Hop by James Wijesinghe

From PENGSHUi to Problem Child, Illaman is name you should surely know by now. The Potent Funk MC has teamed up with long-time collaborator Norm Oddity for a gripping EP expressing some of Illa’s ugliest days.

Group BraCil beatmaker Norm Oddity goes all out, raising the levels set on his previous EP with Illaman, Give Us A Smile. We’re talking suspenseful, diverse production that sits somewhere between soundscapes and haunting hip hop. DRS also returns as the EP’s only feature, coming through with the hook and a sick verse.

‘OK!’ is the first video to drop from the project, inspired by Scorsese’s classic movie Taxi Driver. In the context of Ugly Days, it’s the track with the most confidence and snarl, while still drawing on the mental struggles faced in day-to-day life. Krupa aptly captures this balance of pain and determination in new visuals, which you can watch below.

Ugly Days is available on a limited run of cassettes, digital download and all streaming services. This is music with a message.
