This Sunday 26th, the UK’s best beat boxers will descend to Highbury, North London, for an all-day display of pioneering sounds and to battle for the crown of one of the most prestigious competitions on the underground scene. The event is hosted by Too Many T’s, with DJ Matman and Natty Speaks as well as the DJs Super Scratch Sunday.
With over 110 entries and the competition in it’s 12th year, it’s set to be one of the biggest, most highly skilled dates in the underground music calendar this year.
There will be showcases from French Acapella quadruplet Berywam; Bulgarian Skiller, Saro, Kaila, consecutive winners of the group category, female-duo BURD and Fredy Beats – all in addition to the displays from the competitors.
There’s a lot to be seen and heard in this 12 hour event with the morning session (11-4) hosting the Solo / Team / Loop Elimination rounds and the Under 18 finals.
Then in the evening, the long awaited finals where last year’s winner D Low will try and retain his title for a second year; or will last year’s Under 18 champion Frosty bring the blizzard and freeze the competition.
Here’s a snippet from last year’s solo final:
