American DJ and producer Diplo, who is famous for his skills at fusing of various genres, dropped the latest solo project, California on the 23rd of March. In a radio interview he explained he is always in the studio and has most recently been working on a lot of rap songs.

On the project he teams up with Lil Yachty, Santigold, Desiigner, Trippie Redd, Lil Xan, DRAM, MØ and Goldlink. He stated that the featured tracks did not fit into the individual artist’s albums, so he decided to put them out himself.

The inspiration comes from the young and upcoming rap talent that is currently gracing the hip hop scene. The ‘Betrayed’ rapper Lil Xan being one of them, posted on Instagram that his track ‘Color Blind’ is his favourite song to date.

The video for ‘Worry No More’ with Lil Yachty and Santigold was released at the beginning of March and the sound is a lot different compared to his latest track ‘Count Me In’, and has a more commercial tone with over 1 million views on YouTube. DRAM’s RnB/indie ballad is also gaining popularity on the same platform.

Back in February a low-quality version of Trippie’s track ‘Wish’ was leaked after he had previewed it on Instagram four months earlier. The anticipated song shows off vocals where he sings about his prior relationships and the emotional lows that come with it.
