Review: Sway- Deliverance

Masterful storytelling and some polished beats make Sway’s latest album Deliverance well worth the wait. After much anticipation the North London rapper’s third studio album finally dropped on the 24th July.

Opening with the almost orchestral Deliverance Song the album takes an introspective slant as Sway narrates a range of personal struggles and experiences from his previous health issues on The Sea to earlier life and relationships on Teach Us. Listeners will also recognize a number of previous hits such as Still Speedin’ (with Lupe Fiasco on the remix) and Level Up which reached #19 and #8 in the UK Singles Chart respectively.

With both production and lyrics on point and accompanied by an impressive roster of collaborators the album is a testament both to Sway and the thriving London scene.
